About Albus

Albus is a male German Shepherd mix dog.

Life Before Albus

Albus was not the first animal to live in our house. As an animal-loving family, we had 2 dogs:
A collie and golden retriever mix - Mandy
A black lab and beagle mix - Molly
After they died (of old age) we tried to get a dog, but he was not well behaved and viciously bit us.
After getting Albus, I realize that having no pet left a huge 'gap' in life! If you have ever had an animal before and at a point not had one, you know what I mean!

Adoption

He was adopted at a pet store around 10-12 months old. He was very close to being fully grown by then. Albus behaved differently when we first adopted him.
It was an ordinary day. While out and about running errands, we stopped by PetSmart just to look around. We had not had another dog for a while and we were looking. There were a few dogs. But, one stood out... It was crying so much and hated to see other people outside a cage, it had have it's cage covered with a blanket. He was a very cute dog. The people at the store didn't know his exact breed, only that he was part German Shepherd. Also, they thought he was 10-12 months old. After getting him out of the cage and discussing him, we went for a walk around the store and he was wonderful! We brought him home with us and then we had a new family member, Albus!

New to the family

At first, Albus was scared of the basement, and he would never get up on a couch. Finally after a week, 'inner Albus' kicked in and he got up on couches without being invited. About a week or two after that, he had no problem running around the house or the backyard and wasn't as scared of the basement! He eventually evolved into the Albus we know today!

Albus's Breed

When we got Albus, nobody knew exactly what breed he was. They only knew he was part German Shepherd.
Albus's tail sticks up. He has black/brown fur throughout his body, and some white fur around his belly, throat, snout, and a bit around his body. He doesn't howl, however he will bark for multiple seconds sometimes. His ears do not stick up.
